Video link of Dakota’s new walk

Tripawds is a user-supported community. Thank you for your support!

Video of Dakota walking the hop on Friday (3 days after the double surgery).  She is doing great with the walking. But you can see she is still nervous cuz her tail is slightly tucked.  She does give some good wags of being real proud.

She’s doing great! I think I sawa tail wag in the video (about 6 seconds in 🙂 Always a good sign. Micah and I made home made treats to help in her recovery. I’ll be in touch about when I can drop them off.

Yes, she would love to have visitors to help encourage her and of course bring deserts. Now that she has passed the second big hurdle, I think she is more than up for showing off and saying hi to folks.

    Hey D-

Sidnerella Godzilla here. I am new to this too, and you look amazing! I am just beginning week 3 and gave my humans a pretty good nerve racking skipping meals for awhile. Hang in there. I got my mom to make some favorites I usually only get when in kitchen stealth mode…that helped and so have the naps. But getting out in the yard..well that’s the best medicine of all! Now I am a chasing ball fool.

Can’t wait to see you get stronger!

Sinderella you look amazing and oh so happy. Glad to hear you got back to normal with your eating. I ate a little last night when they decided to put some yummie cottage cheese in there. If I can just get them to make the bacon again life would be awesome!

Dakota is doing very well!! May she do better and better as each new day is here!!!
My Indy had his front left limb removed as well & he did amazing right from day one…The first week he was drugged up on pain meds & nerve pain meds… so he wasn’t as perky ~ and not as his happy self… but he sure did try!!! Week 2 he was on only pain meds and not as often… plus his stitches were removed…He was back to himself and adjusted every day more & more. He started to “trot” when we went for our walks…. He balanced himself very well by putting his right leg in the center when he would sit down and also to do his business…. It took him a while to figure out how to lay down without a big production of circling!! After many months he just plopped himself down like it was always that way.
You will be amazed how well Dakota does!
Big hugs & love from Indiana’s mom

What a beautiful dog spirit Indy has. He is so sweet and I can only imagine how huggable he was. Your site is a wonderful tribute to him and your bond. Thanks for giving encouragement to Dakota. She has 7 weeks to go at minimum with controlling getting her back to her ole self due to the cruciate surgery. But we have faith that she will get there. Hugs & Love to you as you make your way without Indy.
